Oh wow, this is probably the most shiniest work I've done yet.

When I first started using photoshop, I used to dislike shiny CG work like this, but now, I can understand why so many people choose to make it shiny xD It's very eye catching and it looks very innocent but oh so blinding. Strange though, I didn't use the dodge tool at all. And I think yellow, peach, pink, and magenta are the prettiest combination of colors when put together.

I sort of cheated on the clouds though, if you could call them that. I didn't bother to ink it either(you would too after you had to draw all those holes on her dress and socks and pearls >.<;) And I used random textures I had on my computer to complete the look.

But I must say, this is probably my most favorite work I ever done.

This has a really soft, subtle look to it, it's really refreshing. And I love the colors! I just love the whole thing, really!

Soft, luxurious, graceful colors. The wisps of clouds seem to float around her. Yet, her colors blend with them beautifully. It's wonderful!

I especially like the character's outfit as well! :+favlove:

but yes wonderful job. i like it a lot ! please continue :)

As for inking it, I doubled the whole piece in size. Then I just used the brush tool/pen tool in photoshop and keep the lines very thin and set the layer to multiply. Then I lower the opacity to 60%-70% to make them look softer. As for the clouds I just used regular ink on paper and scanned it. Then, I set the layer multiply and erased some of the farthest cloud to make it look even softer and give it some depth. After that's done I reduce it back to it's original size(or you could reduce it after you are done coloring too) This took about three to four hours at the most? o.e sounds like a lot I know, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist and it's worth it in the end. xP

I would have said that in french, but sadly I don't know how to say some things yet. x3 I'm only learning french in highschool xD

I'm glad you like it xD

ahh yes. thank you very much; that was very helpful. this is a really nooby question, but i've been trying to figure it out for a while. what exactly does multiply do ? i use it...but idea what it does exactly :p

hahaha french is quite an interesting language...most of the time i'm not very fond of it but right now i'm in sort of a french mood. i don't know why. it's very weird. seriously though, the best thing you can do is write and speak often.

allez, courage ! tu es très douée! :)

Multiply does....uhh well it's sort of hard to explain other than "it makes the white disappear".

Like it sort of imitates what pigment in paint does. If you add red, blue and yellow on different multiply layers it will turn black. o.o uhhh anyway, I like to think of it as it makes things blend better because I don't always use just black when I ink. For 'Above You' I chose a light brown, but it doesn't look that brown in the picture does it? But ahh, like say if you set lineart with blue lines on multiply and put yellow and red under it. The line on the yellow part will be a different color than the one with the red one. ...I'm sorry that didn't help at all did it?

Hm, was french your first language? Or did you speak it when you were a kid? I mean, I like it because its sounds very pretty x3 but I get confused during class sometimes especially with grammar and remembering whether or not a noun is feminine or masculine (un, une, la, or le. @.@). Like I have trouble deciding when to use imparfait vs passe compose
